We had to do a few gag cartoons that might appear in comic magazines. This is just my version of a possible Rob Liefeld character. If you don't know who the man is... look him up. :) Futurama and the League June 31, 2007 Character(s): Fry/Invisible Man, Leela/Mina Harker, Professor Farnsworth/Quartermain, Bender/Nemo, Zoidberg/Hyde This was also for Doug Baron's humor class at the Joe Kubert School. We had to mix several comic characters with cartoon characters, and thought this would be an interesting mix that wouldn't have been done a million times before. Promo Poster June 13, 2007 Character(s): Cyrus, Blood Pouch, Brimstone, (unnamed character), Death, George This is the finished promotional poster that I did as a final project in my layout class with Bob Hardin at the Joe Kubert School. Coloring, leterring, etc were all done in Photoshop. The main head on the creature is supposed to be me. Poem Illustration June 13, 2007 We had to do three illustrations for a poem in Fernando Ruiz's basic drawing class. This is the color illustration for that assignment. Pencils colored in Photoshop. ZAP June 13, 2007 In Bob Hardin's layout class, we were assigned to do a movie poster similar to those from the 60s and 70s, cheesy title encouraged. Mine was Space Dracula vs. the Martian Man Slave starring Zap Rowsdower of Final Sacrifice fame. And yes, I realize you have no idea who that is. The coloring was done with Dr. Martin Dyes. They're basically super concentrated water colors. Death June 13, 2007 Character(s):Death A colored image of Death that I did for an paste ups assignment. We had to create something with three levels of depth, make copies, paste the three layers to foam creating a three dimensional image we could use as a promotional piece. Osiris: Seth's Feast April 6, 2006 Image of Osiris attending the evil God Seth's Feast, where he's tricked into giving his new sarcophagus a test drive. No one ever said Gods were smart. Osiris: Death April 6, 2006 Image of Osiris in the sarcophagus he climbed inside from previous image. Seth seals it up and chucks it down the river, where it grows into a tree. Osiris: Rebirth April 6, 2006 Osiris' wife, Isis, revives him. Osiris: Underworld April 6, 2006 After Osiris is revived, he becomes God of the afterlife. Ink My current inked or black and white works. Ultimate X-Men pg3 July 31, 2007 Character(s): Wolverine This was for my narrative class with Adam Kubert. We had to adapt a three page script from Ultimate X-Men. We had to ink one of the pages, which is why this is the only inked page. Rawr July 31, 2007 This was for Kim DeMulder's methods class. This was done on scratchboard. Random Thing June 13, 2007 I did this for my methods class. We had to draw some sort of military vehicle, using reference. This was like a... tank or something. I drew it in a forest because I liked the contrast, and sure... it's easier than all those damned straight lines. Humor Page 1 June 13, 2007 In my humor class, we had to do a three page story using these four characters we created at the beginning of the year. The names were given to us and we had to design them... I did not come up with them. They had to come to the school looking for something. This makes absolutely no sense to you I'm sure, because I doubt it made much sense to everyone but a select few in my class that understood the inside jokes. Don't worry about it. Ultimate X-Men pg2 July 31, 2007 Character(s): Wolverine (pg3) This was for my narrative class with Adam Kubert. We had to adapt a three page script from Ultimate X-Men. This page took me forever because I really obsessed with the first panel to get the perspective right. I'm pretty happy with it, but I still would have liked to clean it up a bit. I'm not entirely happy with this one. I mostly just don't like how I rendered the rain. Swamp Thing Cover - pencils July 13, 2007 Character(s): Swamp Thing The pencils to the Swamp Thing cover. Loneliness July 13, 2007 This was one of the earliest assignments in Adam Kubert's narrative class. In a previous assignment, we had to draw a young child and a kitten amongst debri in various scenes. Then we had to draw one large image of that character aged, and the cat mutated. It was also supposed to convey loneliness. Crazy Cave July 13, 2007 This was the very first assignment in Kim DeMulder's methods class. There was no real guidelines, it was just to let him see where we were at in terms of ability. I drew a naked, burned guy in a crazy tentacle, eyeball cave! Death of Squirrel Girl 1 July 13, 2007 Character(s): Squirrel Girl This was the final assignment in Adam Kubert's narrative class. We had to do a "death of a hero" cover before this, and then we had to do two pages leading up to that death. This is the first page featuring Squirrel Girl. Death of Squirrel Girl 2 July 13, 2007 Character(s): Squirrel Girl, Dr. Doom, Thanos, MODOK, Bibeast This is the second page of that assignment. In previous stories (Squirrel Girl is a Marvel character), she has beaten Dr. Doom, Thanos, MODOK, and Bibeast (yeah, bad name) despite being an incredibly goofy character. Here, they're about to get their revenge. Rome Page 1 June 13, 2007 This was done for a basic drawing assignment. We had to do three pages in one of the specific time periods and locations he provided us. I chose 150 AD Rome. The pages also had to be heavily referenced. I'm pretty happy with the way these turned out. He ended up cutting our classes page load to two, because we had missed two weeks worth of class.
